Research

My research investigates questions related to social inequality, social dynamics, and community resilience, with a focus on marginalized populations in diverse contexts, including Latin America and the United States. I employ mixed methods (including computational ones).

Teaching and Technology

I bring extensive experience in educational technology and instructional design, with a passion for enhancing learning and research through thoughtful technology integration. I have supported scholars in effectively leveraging technology in their teaching, learning, and research practices.

Communication and Viz

I'm passionate about creative (and whimsical) explorations in data visualization. I'm skilled in presenting data in an accessible and engaging manner to disseminate research findings and inform strategic decisions across academic, non-profit, and other sectors.

I’m currently a Sociology PhD Candidate at Cornell University, where I’m co-advised by Professors Erin York Cornwell and Michael Macy. My research focuses on understanding how communities, particularly in Latin America and the US (including Chicago), mobilize resources in the face of social and environmental inequality, and how social interactions and spatial dynamics shape processes of social integration in both online and offline communities. I employ a diverse range of methodologies, including quantitative analysis, qualitative inquiry, and computational social science, to address these questions.

While at Cornell, I’m fortunate to be a Cornell Graduate Dean’s Scholar, a Fundação Estudar Scholar and the 2021 Roper Center’s Mitofsky Fellow. My research has been graciously supported by the The Qualitative and Interpretive Research Institute, the Cornell Population Center and the Graduate School.

Previously I worked as an Educational Technologist at Bryn Mawr College and Barnard Colleges, where in addition to helping both Professors and students to integrate technology into their teaching, learning and research, I worked with other departments in the university to track and evaluate educational programs and classes. I’m very passionate about leveraging technology for learning and research in a responsible and accessible way. 

I got a BA in Economics and Political Science from Bryn Mawr College. I’m a Hanna Holborn Gray 2017 fellow and a Bryn Mawr College Digital Scholarship 2017 fellow.
